The 12th Annual Huhezinema Basque Short Film Festival will open on April 2. Over the course of three days, events organized by the fourth-year Audiovisual Communication students from Mondragon University will be held at the Arkupe Cultural Center in Aretxabaleta and on the campus.

 

Short films will be accepted until February 15, 2019 for the three sections of the festival: the Official Section, the MU Students’ Section, and the Kutixi Section. Submissions must meet the following criteria: Huhezinema: criteria.

 

Sixteen fourth-year students have organized this year’s festival under the coordination of Professor Iban Del Campo.

 

PRIZES

Official Section

  • Huhezinema Award: 200 euros for each finalist.
  • Goiena Award: 1,000 euros.
  • Vertigo Award: 400 euros.
  • Mundukide Award: 700 euros.
  • Audience Award: 300 euros.

MU Students’ Section

  • Best Fiction Award: 300 euros.
  • Best Documentary Award: 300 euros.
  • Best Photography Award: The Ogeita4 company will present the winner with camera equipment valued at 1,500 euros with which to make a Basque short film to be presented at Huhezinema in 2020.
  • Mundukide Award: 700 euros.
  • Audience Award: 100 euros.

Kutixi Section

  • Basque Culinary Award: 400 euros.
  • Audience Award: 100 euros.
  • Mundukide Award: 700 euros.
