Ane Zuazubiskar and Ane Garcia won the MU Students’ Awards for Best Fiction and Best Documentary, respectively.

In a ceremony held on April 5 at the Arkupe Culture Center in Aretxabaleta, prizes for the 12th Annual Huhezinema Short Film Festival were awarded. Actor and director Kepa Errasti presented the awards.

 

The following works won awards in this 12th Huhezinema Festival:

 

OFFICIAL SECTION

  • Huhezinema Award: Goiena Award: Zain (Pello Gutierrez).
  • Judges’ Special Mention: Asfixia (Leire Egaña).
  • Vertigo Award (jury of MU students): Minutuak (Mikel Uralde Arrue).
  • Audience Award: Minutuak (Mikel Uralde Arrue).
  • Mundukide Award (best treatment of Human Rights and Social Justice in a short film): Mugak hautsiz (Asier Toledo and Xabier Martin).
  • Mundukide Award Special Mention: Un agujero en el muro (Carlos Moure).

 

MU STUDENTS’ SECTION

  • Best Fiction: Erroak (Ane Zuazubiskar).
  • Best Documentary: Min ezkutuak (Ane Garcia).
  • Best Photography: Erroak (Ane Zuazubiskar).
  • Audience Award: Stendhal (Egoitz D. Ibargoitia).

 

KUTIXI SECTION

  • Kutixi Award: Urtea joan da (Egoitz D. Ibargoitia).
  • Audience Award: Babarrun txapelketa (Julen de la Serna).

 

This year’s jury included the following professionals: Iratxe Fresneda, Natxo Rodriguez and Izaskun Arandia.

The Huhezinema Short Film Festival is organized each year by students in Mondragon University’s Audiovisual Communication Degree Program. This year a total of 16 students were involved.
