In an event held on November 28 at the headquarters of the TeamLabs learning laboratory in Madrid, representatives from the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University and from TeamLabs signed a collaboration agreement between the two organizations. The agreement was signed by Félix Lozano, co-founder and CEO of TeamLabs, and Begoña Pedrosa, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences.

The signing of the agreement opens the door to a deeper examination of the relationship between the two educational entities, not only to design and create new disruptive training programs, but also to manage the educational programs that are already underway during the 2019-2020 academic year.

EXISTING EDUCATIONAL PROGRAMS

There are currently two programs offered by the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University in conjunction with TeamLabs: the University Master’s Degree Program in Learning Facilitation and Innovation (LIT) and the Specialist Diploma in Chief Learning Officer (CLO). In the next academic year, the two entities will launch a second Specialist Diploma aimed at education professionals: New Roles for Learning in Education (ROL).

The University Master’s Degree in Learning Facilitation and Innovation (LIT) is a unique and highly practical program in which students are prepared for the new role of learning and innovation facilitator, in both educational and corporate contexts, so that they will be able to lead processes of change, of digital transformation, and of learning and innovation in an environment that is uncertain and in a state of constant flux. This program has a blended learning format and is designed as a set of cycles with a LEGO model, so that the participants are the ones responsible for choosing their direction in the program, in which each will develop his or her own innovation/transformation project. LIT work sessions will take place in Madrid and Bilbao.

Specialist Diploma in Chief Learning Officer (CLO) is an in-house qualification aimed both at professionals in any discipline who wish to turn their career around and learn new experiences and methodologies focusing on learning facilitation and innovation, and at professionals in the areas of Innovation, Human Resources, Talent and Training in corporations, start-ups and/or third-sector organizations. The purpose of the CLO program is to train a new type of high-ranking executive responsible for leading processes of change, digital transformation, learning and innovation in an uncertain environment in a state of constant change in a corporation. The program is offered in the blended learning format, with online modules and face-to-face workshops led by experts on weekends that will take place in both Bilbao and Madrid.

NEW PROGRAM FOR EDUCATORS

The Specialist Diploma in New Roles for Learning in Education (ROL) is an in-house qualification that will be launched in the 2020-2021 academic year and that is especially aimed at professionals in education. The primary objective of the program is to train individuals who wish to lead and facilitate learning based on new ways of doing, thinking and learning in education, both in the classroom and in change management in the center.

TEAMLABS

TeamLabs is a learning laboratory created in 2012, with bases in Barcelona, Madrid and Mexico, whose objective is to revolutionize education and contribute to strengthening a professional class that is committed proactively to the world, innovative and open to collaboration. It is an educational project in which to experience a new disruptive model of the 21st-century university, a transdisciplinary space that allows groups to work and learn through real projects seeking to create global impact. There are no professors, classrooms, conventional classes, or exams, only work by projects, in interdisciplinary and diverse groups that travel the world to develop a global mentality. In addition to programs designed in conjunction with the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, TeamLabs teaches for the Bachelor’s Degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation (LEINN) in conjunction with Mondragon University’s Faculty of Business Studies at their headquarters in Madrid and Barcelona.
