The first international Gastro Education conference will be held on July 8, beginning at 4:00 p.m. The conference was organized by Mondragon University’s Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences and the Basque Culinary Center. The challenges and links between gastronomy and education will be discussed at the meeting. Registration is now open:

PROGRAM

  • 4:05-4:15 p.m. Official welcome - Joxe Mari Aizega, Managing Director of the Basque Culinary Center, and Nagore Ipiña, Dean of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences.
  • 4:15-4:30 p.m. Designing future scenarios for education and gastronomy. Estefanía Simón and Anaïs Iglesias.
  • 4:30-4:50 p.m. What is the chef of tomorrow like? New needs for the future education of gastronomy. Diego Guerrero.
  • 4:50-5:25 p.m. Round table (1). The coming education and the new role of the teacher. Leadership challenges and co-learning. Moderated by Osane Matías. Speakers: Agurtzane Martinez, Jorge Bretón.
  • 5:25-6:00 p.m. Round table (2). Personalized learning and learning by doing methodologies in the Gastronomic Sciences. Moderated by Izaskun Zurbitu (Coordinator of the Department of Innovation and Entrepreneurship of the BCC). Speakers: Ainara Imaz, Michelangelo Cestari.
  • 6:00-6:15 p.m. The coming education and leadership from education. Fernado Trujillo (Conecta 13).
  • 6:15-6:20 p.m. Closing remarks and main conclusions.
