The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University will participate in Brazil’s Conexão Mundo training program at the request of the Secretary of Education, Science and Technology of the State of Paraíba, Brazil. Thanks to this program, 60 Brazilian professionals in the field of education will receive specific training during the 2021-2022 academic year.

The offerings are organized around three broad themes: gastronomy and hospitality management, the environment and energy, and cooperative education. Mondragon University has created a specific expert degree in each area. The Mondragon Higher Polytechnic School (Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa (MGEP) and the Basque Culinary Center (BCC) will collaborate in this project.

The following are the three expert degree programs available:

Expert degree in pedagogical training for teachers of Vocational Training in gastronomy and hospitality management. Participants in this training program will acquire a theoretical and practical foundation in educational innovation and will work on specific didactic-methodological strategies applicable in Vocational Training in the fields of gastronomy and hospitality management. This course was developed in collaboration with the Basque Culinary Center.

Expert degree in pedagogical training for teachers of Vocational Training in the environment, sustainability and energy. Participants in this program will also acquire a theoretical and practical foundation in educational innovation, to which will be added the didactics and specific methodologies applicable to Vocational Training in the fields of the environment, sustainability and energy. MGEP has provided significant collaboration in this program.

University expert degree in cooperative education. This program offers participants the opportunity to become familiar with, reflect on and implement some of the key elements that characterize cooperative learning, based on an analysis of specific cooperative experiences and through a research-action process that will be developed for and from the professional practice of the participants themselves.

In all of these expert degree programs, the end-of-degree projects will be especially relevant, with the intention of turning the teaching staff into agents of change and pedagogical development in their professional setting.
