Approximately 5 students of training cycles at the Higher Polytechnic School of Mondragon will enjoy a 3-month mobility experience thanks to the Erasmus programme. Some of these participants have obtained the scholarship through the standard procedure of the Erasmus programme; however, for the second consecutive year, Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa has also promoted the participation of students in the Dual Itinerary in the mobility experience. It should be noted that this centre has been the first and only vocational training centre in the Basque Country to carry out this new practice.

The Erasmus programme has been active for years, allowing students of the 2nd year of training cycles to have mobility experiences in Europe. Nevertheless, students who followed the DUAL mode (which allows students to combine studies and work throughout the second year of studies) were excluded from the programme. This has led the Higher Polytechnic School to open new avenues for collaboration with companies and to design a beneficial strategy for all parties.

The five students will travel in March to destinations such as Milan (Italy), Prague (Czech Republic), Vlissingen (Netherlands), and Cluj (Romania). For some of them, it will be the first experience in a company, but for those who have followed the dual itinerary, their practical training will be transferred to another European subsidiary within the same organisation.

The Erasmus programme has growing acceptance in training cycles given the evolution in both applicants and scholarships granted. The Higher Polytechnic School of Mondragon strongly believes in the promotion of these type of experiences so that it can continue working in new methods of participation.
