The conference will be held on 4 November, at 6:30 pm, at Mondragon Goi Eskola Politeknikoa (Calle Loramendi 4, Arrasate) and is promoted by the associations Piper Txuriak, Elkarhezitzen and the Biteri Hall of Residence. The conference is part of the open training initiative on new masculinities that drive the aforementioned agents for the second consecutive year.

After the satisfactory experience of collaboration of the previous course, Ritxar Bacete will return to accompany us with his presentations on the path of awareness and reflection on various topics. Always from a feminist philosophy and open to men and women, but from the male standpoint with the objective of achieving a positive construction of new masculinities.

The presentation of 4 November will focus on men and risk. As explained by Ritxar Bacete, author of the book Nuevos hombres buenos (“New Good Men”), “the problem posed by the risk associated with masculinity in our culture is that it has the necessary social permission and even a positive assessment of identity affirmation so that It is an extended and normalised phenomenon. For men, the vulnerability that necessarily entails assuming a situation of risk is minimised by the epic, social recognition or what can be obtained in exchange for being able to jeopardise one’s own integrity (fame, power, authority, etc.)”

The organisers would like to invite everyone to this event that will take place in the multifunctional hall of the Biteri Hall of Residence on 4 November, from 6:30 pm to 8:30 pm.
