Both entities will work together in research projects and technology transfer, continuous training, and talent recruitment in the field of cybersecurity, contributing to the training of future professionals.

The Polytechnic School of Mondragon Unibertsitatea has signed a collaboration agreement with the Open Cloud Factory group, through its subsidiary Open Cloud Factory Industrial Cybersecurity, for a period of five years.  

The Open Cloud Factory group is a company with a strong presence in the field of cybersecurity, specialising in open source solutions, virtualisation, and cloud computing. The company that is committed to showing a common digital security strategy, which encompasses both IT (Information Technology) and OT (Operational Technology), where Mondragon Unibertsitatea, as a top-level agent in the cybersecurity framework, provides it with theoretical knowledge and experience in this field.

In the words of Albert Estrada, CEO & Founder of the Open Cloud Factory group: “We have a company DNA in which research plays a key role in continuing to develop us as experts in cybersecurity.” 

Training of future professionals

In practice, the agreement contemplates that both organisations collaborate closely in fields of scientific and technological research in the field of cybersecurity at Open Cloud Factory, promoting the implementation of programmes, projects and activities and the generation of knowledge, exchange, and the transfer between them. 

Additionally, it will allow the implementation of doctoral theses, end-of-course and end-of-Master’s projects, study-work programmes, and even launching of courses for professionals, thereby contributing to the training of future professionals in this field. All this in order to ensure relevant studies, which are in line with the real needs of industry 4.0.

Cybersecurity, Data Analysis, and Cloud Computing

In fact, aware of the “explosion” of cybersecurity and with the aim of responding to the needs of companies and leading the processes of transformation involving Industry 4.0, organisations will need people who know how to interpret data and turn them into business opportunities. Thus, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, will be launching in September, on the Arrasate campus, a Master’s Degree in Data Analysis, Cybersecurity and Cloud Computing, unique in the country.

The Master’s degree will train experts who understand and know how to use data analysis techniques and have mastery of cybersecurity, development of digital platforms, and management and deployment of applications in the cloud, which provide effective solutions to industry and society.
