Mondragon Unibertsitatea has been named the best university in the awards ceremony of the eighth edition of the MAIER S. COOP. International Design Competition, obtaining an economic provision of €1,500. The contest organised by the cooperative MAIER was targeted at the use of lighting as a design element of the vehicles of 2025, and the award ceremony took place at the Automotive Intelligence Centre of Amorebieta-Etxano. 

In it, Víctor Groten, a San Sebastian native, former student of the Degree in Industrial Design and Product Development Engineering of the Faculty of Engineering and current student of the Polytechnic University of Valencia, was awarded for his AURA project, obtaining a prize of €4,000.

In addition, students from the third year of the same degree were the finalists with the BARUS and MOBYN projects, developed by Mario Belloso and Euken Ercilla, and Ivan Angulo and Iker Lorenzo, respectively.

A prestigious contest

The eighth edition of the MAIER S. COOP. International Design Competition had a total of 128 projects from countries such as the United States, France, Germany, Great Britain, Italy, Spain, China, India and Brazil, and over €15,000 were distributed among the winners of the contest. In addition, the awards ceremony was attended by distinguished personalities such as Iñigo Ucín, President of the MONDRAGON Corporation, Robert Lesnik, Director of Exterior Design of Daimler, François Farion, Director of Colour & Trim Design of Renault, Williane Oliveira, Director of Colour & Trim Design of Byton, and François Duris, Design Director of Huawei Technologies.
