The Diseinu Berrikuntza Zentroa (DBZ) of Mondragon Unibertsitatea will be launching the HCD FACILITY TOOL project (Human-Centred Design (HCD) Learning Methodologies). The project is funded by the Programme to promote the competitive strengthening of the fabric, sustainability and collaboration between the Gipuzkoa business fabric and the Department of Economic Promotion, Rural Environment and Territorial Balance of the Provincial Council of Gipuzkoa.

The main goal of the project is to integrate Human-Centred Design (HCD) into organisations through the HCD Facility Tool platform. This allows Gipuzkoa-based companies to self-learn the fundamentals and methods of human-centred design. The HCD Facility Tool will enable the optimisation of processes of launching products and services to the market and promoting innovation.

The HCD helps improve companies when considering the needs of people, but difficulties have been found in its integration in daily activities since:

  • There is a lack of knowledge of what the HCD is and what it means to apply it to provide innovative solutions and/or solve problems in organisations and companies.
  • Untrained people do not know which methods can be applied when solving a problem.
  • There is no repository with information on how to apply the methods

This project aims to solve the difficulties exposed.
