Students of the 3rd year of the Degree in Biomedical Engineering visit the ONBideratu centre
About 30 students attended the UGGASA centre in Urretxu, Spain
The students of 3rd year of the Degree in Biomedical Engineering of Mondragon Unibertsitatea made a visit to the ONBideratu centre of UGGASA (Urola Garaiko Garapenerako Agentzia) in Urretxu, Spain.
The visit to ONBideratu was associated with the subject of Technological Equipment in Medicine, in which two engineers (Mondragon Unibertsitatea alumni) and a physiotherapist of the company GOGOA provided theoretical training on 4 important axes:
- Neurorehabilitation and cognitive stimulation
- Robotic rehabilitation strategies and therapeutic approach
- Design of robotic systems for rehabilitation and human-robot integration
- Regulations and challenges of the industrialisation and approval process.
Following the theoretical phase, small groups were formed during the practical section to learn more about the systems of the ONBideratu centre at their full capacity.
Mondragon Unibertsitatea is committed to practical teaching and remains close to business reality, enabling students to learn more about the reality of companies in the sector.
A regional development centre
The ONBideratu centre aims to develop the region based on sectoral specialisation, including training, product manufacturing, knowledge exploitation, and differentiation in services. Through collaboration with leading technology and research centres in the sector and the promotion of companies in the field of robotic rehabilitation systems (design, manufacturing, and marketing), it seeks to position Urola Garaia as a benchmark in the sector. ONBideratu represents a centre that highly in tune with the knowledge that is addressed in the Biomedical Degree of Mondragon Unibertsitatea.
