The Faculty of Engineering has joined the affiliate network of the Demand Driven Institute thanks to the recently signed agreement. Thus, the Logistics and Production Operations Management area has acquired the right to teach the courses offered by the Demand Driven Institute.

In 2013, several members of the Logistics and Production Operations Management area were trained and certified as Demand Driven Planners. Since then, they have been actively working to train students of regulated education (undergraduate and Master’s) and professionals (courses and seminars) in the DDMRP and DBR methodologies. They are also carrying out transfer and research work, implementing these methodologies in the companies in the environment with satisfactory results, and disseminating these results in congresses and scientific journals.

With this new milestone, Mondragon Unibertsitatea, already affiliated with the Demand Driven Institute, continues working and advancing in its determined commitment to academic and professional innovation.

A competitive system for the New Scenario

Currently, companies have been competing in the New Scenario where the existing offer exceeds customer demand. In this scenario, offering customised products that meet the needs of the customer immediately is essential for obtaining a competitive advantage. Nevertheless, companies are having problems managing the supply chain and serving customers efficiently, due to the use of methodologies that are not prepared or updated to meet the challenges of the New Scenario.

Faced with this reality, the Demand Driven Institute developed the DDMRP methodology, with the aim of increasing the flow of materials and information through the supply chain. The increase in visibility that this change provides allows the company to manage materials efficiently, adjusting the inventory to the real demand, and increasing the level of service.
