The aim of this program that has launched Mondragon University named Changemaker Lab was to encourage entrepreneurship in multidisciplinary groups between students in different faculties of the university. It has lasted four months and 18 students have taken part on it, the name of this students have been “change makers” and the objective has been to encourage the development and the evolution in entrepreneurial teams to encourage the creation of companies.

The action is based on the methodology MTA (Mondragon Team Academy) the international entrepreneurship net in Mondragon University and it proposes an innovative training process based on the students themselves -change makers-, the mentors or coaches -they are no longer teachers-, the interdisciplinary spaces -and not classes- and real challenges -and not subjects-. The program is sponsored by KIMU BERRI and promoted by GAZTENPRESA.

Entrepreneurship is one of the priorities in institutions and economical and social agents of different countries. In fact, fostering the culture of entrepreneurship in all the areas of society and at all stages of life, has become a common goal and the aim of economic development, wealth and development of society. Mondragon University is working in entrepreneurship for years and it is now the leading university in the Basque Country in training programs and other initiatives with the aim to train and encourage entrepreneurs, through undergraduate and postgraduate degrees and entrepreneurship programs. Everything is done to inculcate entrepreneurial spirit and reinforcing training of the entrepreneurial human capital.

The Basque Government recently approved the Inter-Institutional Entrepreneurship Plan 2020 to encourage entrepreneur people and small companies with the aim to plan and to set priorities so that all the Basque agents involved can include entrepreneurship among their priorities and reinforce their entrepreneurial training.

In fact, the latest data on entrepreneurship in Euskadi show a downward trend and the creation of new companies in the territory has several years without having a comeback, this evolution is much lower than that of the whole of Spain, whose evolution is situated by 1.1% compared to 0.2% increase in Euskadi.

The initiative has two main characteristics: the interdisciplinary, given the origin of the assistants of different disciplines, and its multi-localization, what allows to connect the different faculties of Mondragon Univeristy.

The program consists of six modules, which have been carried out in a 'bootcamps' format. This ‘bootcamps’ are like intensive workshops, of one day or a day and a half, where theory and activities are shared by experts in the field, to apply it to projects. In addition, for each module previously a work has been done: overcoming challenges, reading, research or teamwork ... The participants have worked on real projects in intensive workshops (bootcamps), visited companies, attended events, and so on.
