Acumen Academy and Open Value Foundation, two pioneering foundations in social impact, have selected Haize Trueba, leinner, founder and co-director of KUVU and Lander Jiménez, member of the team of team coaches of Mondragon Team Academy-LEINN in the Bilbao laboratory, as two of the new 25 Spanish leaders to promote Social Justice.

In this edition, the second in Spain, 300 candidates have been presented among engineers, journalists, businessmen, public administration technicians and social entrepreneurs. They all share, according to both foundations, a common goal: the challenge of generating a systemic change in society; innovating and offering more balanced approaches in order to solve some of today's challenges, from equality to climate change.

A jury made up of more than 40 experts related to the social impact ecosystem has evaluated the candidates taking into account the criteria of the Fellows members of the 2020 Cohort. The 25 chosen members have passed various tests, and have stood out: for their capabilities when working as a team; for demonstrating a high level of commitment and for having an outstanding level of influence to increase the impact of the actions they have worked on as a group.

Acumen Fellows was born in New York in 2007 “to encourage the community of leaders from all countries of the world to have the determination, imagination and perseverance to dream of a better world and make it happen”. Founded by the renowned American businesswoman Jacqueline Nogratz and funded by the Rockfeller Foundation, the program offers leadership training every year "to boost their capacities to generate solutions to the most complex social problems of our time." In Spain, the Open Value Foundation, founded by María Ángeles León, supports this initiative for the second time and helps finance the mentoring and training project.

More than 700 agents of change around the world

The Fellows are part of a community made up of more than 700 agents of change who work in countries on five continents. Through the initiatives led by each Fellow, more than eight million people are currently benefiting. Acumen Academy amplifies the good practices of these leaders, who are true references within their communities.

Only by being able to empathize with the person next to us, will we be able to understand each other and build effective and lasting solutions that make Social Justice not need a date to remind us how things should be.
