TRAINING ACTIVITY 1

Scientific production (scientific text production I and II)

DURATION2 credits (50 hours).

NATURE: compulsory.

LANGUAGE: Spanish.

CONTENT:

Scientific Text Production I (1 credit)

Principles of effective writing.

Scientific text organisation: analysing the structure of scientific texts and writing a scientific text.

This will be done through masterclasses and individual projects.

Scientific Text Production II (1 credit)

Journal selection.

Preparing a paper for publication.

The review process.

How to review a scientific paper.

TRAINING ACTIVITY 2

SPECIFIC TRAINING

DURATION: 5 credits (125 hours).

NATURE: Compulsory.

LANGUAGE: Spanish and english

CONTENT:

Food Sciences Research. Theory and principal lines of research (5 credits)

Specific research methodologies in their interaction with Gastronomy.

Research multidisciplinarity.

Current state of research in its interaction with science and cuisine.

Application of theory and lines of research in their interaction with science and cuisine.

Management, Society, and Culture Research. Theory and principal lines of research (5 credits)

Specific research methodologies in their interaction with gastronomy through business management, sociology, and anthropology.

Research multidisciplinarity.

New models of gastronomic management and gastronomy's interrelationship with sociology and anthropology.

Application of theory and lines of research.

TRAINING ACTIVITY 3

INFORMAL TRAINING

NAME: Conferences, stays abroad, participation in research projects, etc.

DURATION: 3 weeks (minimum).

NATURE: compulsory.

Details and planning:

Doctoral students will attend research-related training activities organised at Mondragon Unibertsitatea and other institutions besides said university.

This module has the objective of preparing doctoral students with the steps to follow complex research processes. Doctoral students will also be facilitated with renowned researcher contacts that will assist them in their research process.

As a requirement, each doctoral student must complete three informal training activities during the programme (1 per year for full-time doctoral students, and 3 over the course of 5 years for part-time doctoral students). Some of the various activities to be carried out include the following:

  • Attending specialised conferences.
  • Presenting talks and posters.
  • Writing and sending articles for review and publication
  • Participating in research projects in various areas (national and international).
  • Participating in research contracts in various areas (national and international).
  • University professor training experience.
  • Patent writing.
  • Completing stays at third-party centres.
  • Courses of programmes from other universities.
  • Any other that has been previously approved by the Programme's Academic Committee.
