Mondragon Unibertsitatea will offer the next year the new Degree in Business Data Analytics in Bilbao. A degree trying to satisfy the demand for professional profiles that combine knowledge of data science with its application to business management.
In this new business scenario that is increasingly digital, and therefore a generator of data in a massive way, the demand of qualified professionals who know how to extract value from data significantly exceeds the number of candidates in the labor market. According to a report prepared by Randstad Research, in the space of five years, 390,000 professionals in the field of data science will be required.
The objective of the Degree in Business Data Analytics is to train students who are capable of transforming data into value for organizations, either through optimization of organizational processes or the creation of new services and / or businesses. This new grade is characterized by a methodological approach in which the student is the protagonist of their learning and puts them in contact, from the first moment, with the business reality. It is a methodology in which the students will have to develop solutions to real problems related to the data, raised by companies from different sectors (retail, telecommunications, banking, entertainment, etc.). For example, students should develop predictive models so that analyzing the pattern of use of a product / service or consumption of goods can predict future actions or, using mathematics, predict the demand of energy consumption in the coming months.
