Mondragon Unibertsitatea and TeamLabs, its learning laboratory, have organized this Thursday, at Tech Barcelona, the round table "Talent for talent: new times, new skills". It was held in the context of the presentation of the University Master's Degree in Strategic Management of People Talent (MTalent), a program of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, which will be available from Barcelona from September, and which works from the first day with real cases of companies.

The round table was presented and moderated by Joan Clotet, consultant in digital talent and coordinator in Barcelona of the Master in Strategic Management of People Talent of Mondragon Unibertsitatea and Teamlabs (MTalent). He was joined by Javier Agea, People & culture Manager at Ikea Sabadell; Fidel Mallo, People Leader Eurofirms; Ana Fernández de Gaceo; collaborator at Adegi for Fabrika; Mikel Mesonero, coordinator of Talent Generation and Development in Management at Mondragon Unibertsitatea; and Begoña Echaburu, coordinator of the main research team and coordinator of the Mtalent Master at Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

The participants have discussed about the situation and needs of talent management in Barcelona, with high level of competence especially in the digital field from different perspectives. The moderator, Joan Clotet, began by pointing out that "the world has changed and talent management must change at the same speed. We need to invest in people by promoting a more innovative, grounded and humanistic approach".

From Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Begoña Echaburu said that they are characterized "by being part of a management model that puts people at the center. We are characterized by the factors of innovation, social transformation and people as the protagonists of our socio-business projects. In coherence with all this, and from the Mtalent ecosystem, we provide a differential learning proposal, which blurs the boundaries between the university and the company, offering a journey through content that travels through the real challenges that companies have to address regarding the life cycle of their people". "In a constantly changing social and employment landscape, we need new learning models that ensure the development of skills and competencies. The Master Mtalent pivots on a learning ecosystem in which the company, the student and the university share time, spaces and experiences to ensure the development of these competencies," added Mikel Mesonero.

From the point of view of companies, Javier Agea explained that "the current challenge is to understand the new paradigm where people expect more from the organizations in which they work. We believe that being meaningful and connecting the purpose of the organizations with that of the people who are part of them can be the key". Fidel Mallo, for his part, commented that "in an environment of high social anxiety, it is more important than ever that we remember that behind the word 'talent' there is a person who is much more than the skills he or she applies in his or her work performance". Finally, Ana Fernández de Gaceo added that "for better talent management in organizations, we should review the values and the way in which relationships between people and teams are built, so that they are aligned with the needs and concerns of the different generations that coexist in the same organization".

After the round table, a coffee-networking session was held on the Tech Barcelona terrace with the participation of the speakers and those attending the meeting.
