The Business Faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea,, the SD Eibar football club, and WATS Team, a leading organization in sports training at a professional level and preven-tion of violence in sports, have signed an agreement to promote training, professionalism -zation and employability in sports through two university programs: Master in Innovation and Sports Business Management and Postgraduate in Sports Innovation.

The signing of the agreement took place in Ipurua, the club's stadium, where Lander Be-loki, dean of this Business Faculty, Mikel Larrañaga, Vice President of the Eibar Sports Society Foundation and Jon Ander Ulazia, CEO of the Sociedad De-portiva Eibar and Alex Navarro co-founder of WATS Team.

The initiative, developed in three ways, starts from the need to increase training in the sports field through both university programs in which experts from the club will participa-te in different subjects such as business management, communication strategies or the club's internationalization model. In addition, this agreement has a scholarship program aimed at the club's athletes as well as the people who carry out their professional activity there, and an internship program aimed at the participants of both programs.

Mondragon Unibertsitatea and WATS Team have detailed the details of the programs, both pioneers in Euskadi and in the State.

The Postgraduate in Sports Innovation is aimed at professionals between 27 and 50 years old who seek to innovate in their companies located in the sports sector or who are willing to start and develop their own sports business project. Through training and sup-port, this “executive” program ensures that these professionals are capable of progressing in this sector. The program has two editions in which a total of 25 people have participa-ted and the third edition of the program will begin next March. www.wats.team/wats-expert-online/

On the other hand, the Master in Innovation and Sports Business Management is aimed at young people between 22 and 27 years old who are passionate about sports and re-cent graduates, who would like to be trained to work in the Sports sector and form their own sports business project in a practical way. The first edition of the program is currently being developed and the registration process for the second edition is already open from www.wats.team/wats-master/

This collaboration is a first starting point to be able to continue working in three ways in promoting the values of sport, deepening the professionalization and training of the sports sector, raising awareness against sports violence and developing future joint ac-tions.

The faculty of both programs has precisely many well-known faces from the world of elite sport, linked to the WATS Team, such as Vicente del Bosque (ex-national coach), Julen Guerrero (Under-17 National Coach and former Athletic Club player), Xabi Prieto ( former Real Sociedad player), Patricia Ramírez (Sports Psychologist, writer and speaker), Jero García (former professional boxer and presenter of “Hermano Mayor”), along with fifteen other prominent professionals from fields such as business management, entrepreneu-rship, business development, marketing or communication, among others.
