The Learning Journeys to Korea, Costa Rica and Berlin are underway
Despite the current context of pandemic, and following all security measures so that the learning journeys can be carried out, from the network of laboratories of Mondragon Team Academy, and more specifically, in the degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation-LEINN together with the start up Travelling U that operates the trips, a commitment has been made to continue developing entrepreneurial and innovative people with a global outlook, who can connect with the most relevant challenges of the countries they visit and develop new businesses in them through the projects they are undertaking.
For this reason, last March 14, 95 entrepreneurs of the Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation Degree (LEINN) from the laboratories of Bilbao, Oñati, Irun and Valencia, began their Learning Journey Seoul (South Korea), traveling to the Asian country. This Learning Journey is developed in collaboration with the Korean university SKHU and TravellingU, which already has a local entrepreneurship laboratory where LEINN is developed, and therefore, the Korean city is one of the strategic hubs in the international development of the Mondragon Team Academy laboratories network.
The young entrepreneurs of LEINN, access the South Korean entrepreneurial ecosystem, connecting with different multinational companies, such as Samsumg, cooperative realities such as the Happy Bridge restaurant franchise and social projects such as the team entrepreneurship project for North Korean refugees, of Asan Foundation, Hyundai's foundation. Their stay lasts 12 weeks where they reside in the Korean megalopolis of 24 million inhabitants and work in the Seoul Innovation Park, one of the strategic projects in the innovation framework of the city of Seoul.
The commitment to educating global citizens does not stop there. For the second year of LEINN, having restrictions for the usual trip to the USA, the Learning Journey of Costa Rica has been activated and in April 114 leinners from Oñati, Irun, Bilbao and Valencia have traveled to complete a stay of 4 weeks in the country. The objectives will be to get to know Central America and have a first perspective of the Latin American entrepreneurial ecosystem, to understand sustainability and the SDGs as a core element when developing projects since Costa Rica is a leader in sustainability globally and last but not least to connect with the reality of social projects in Costa Rica.
These two trips join those already made in the framework of the first year where since September more than 80 LEINN entrepreneurs have traveled to Berlin and another 40 are doing so at this time. The main objective of this first year Learning Journey to Berlin is to connect with one of the world's leading entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems and main European reference in this field, besides being a city full of cultural and social initiatives, which make it especially attractive for the development of entrepreneurial projects.
In conclusion, the development of global entrepreneurship continues at LEINN, and entrepreneurs are having the opportunity to meet, connect and create new projects in the different countries mentioned above. In the current context of pandemic, with the global challenges we face as a society and in the face of economic uncertainties, these trips are the best opportunity to work on entrepreneurship and propose new projects that provide solutions to them. Therefore, entrepreneurial education and its global outlook are fundamental keys to overcome the current situation of health and economic crisis.
