Following last year's success, BME and BBF Fintech will organize the second international edition of Hack&Disrupt! on April 1 and 2, the fintech and insurtech hackathon to solve challenges on sustainable finance. The event will take place at the Bilbao Stock Exchange and at the campus of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria. The event will bring together companies, students, entrepreneurs and startups to solve technological challenges. This meeting will award 5,000 euros in prizes.

On Friday, April 1, at 12:30, the institutional opening will be held, with the participation of Javier Hernani, CEO of BME; Ainara Basurko, Deputy for Economic Promotion; Xabier Ochandiano, Councillor for Economic Development, Trade and Employment of the City Council of Bilbao, and Lander Beloki, Dean of the Business Faculty of Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

Afterwards, it will be the turn of the round table "Ethical finance as a value proposition", which will be attended by Berta Ares, General Manager of BME Inntech; Nora Sarasola, Director of Social Work of the BBK Foundation, and Óscar Ugarte, Director of Seed Capital. At 13:45 there will be a presentation by Mikel Garcia-Prieto, from Triodos Bank Spain.

At 16:30 the challenges will be presented at Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria, followed by the division into teams and the experience table, which will include training and mentoring sessions. On April 2, in the same space, the solutions will be presented to the jury (at 5 pm), the awards will be presented (6 pm) and there will be an informal closing and networking (7 pm).

The second edition of Hack&Disrupt! has the collaboration of Bilbao Plaza Financiera, Bilbao City Council, BBK, Mondragon Team Academy and the Provincial Council of Bizkaia.

The BBF Fintech incubator is a public-private initiative with 3 years of trajectory, promoted by the City Council of Bilbao, the Provincial Council of Bizkaia through Beaz, Mondragon Unibertsitatea and Dominion. Its objective is to incubate new businesses around finance and technology, as well as to accelerate existing companies in this field.
