Access

Access to this master's degree is open to students holding either a national or foreign qualification who have studied higher education courses equivalent to MECES level 2 or similar, in the field of engineering. Additionally, they must meet the following criteria and the qualification must entitle them to access postgraduate studies in the issuing country.

Depending on the previous training acquired, access may be direct or with additional courses.

Direct

Students who have previously completed the following or similar studies may access this master's degree without any additional courses:

Graduates in Industrial Electronic Engineering

Graduates in Energy Engineering

Graduates in Mechatronics Engineering

provided they have acquired the skills described below:

  • Skill 1: Interpret and analyse low complexity electrical circuits for energy transformation, control and conditioning applications.
  • Skill 2: Design analogue electrical and electronic circuits for simple applications.
  • Skill 3: Interpret and analyse digital electronic systems of medium complexity for control and conditioning applications.
  • Skill 4: Design digital electronic circuits for simple applications.
  • Skill 5: Program medium/high-complexity digital electronic systems for industrial applications.
  • Skill 6: Interpret and analyse simple mechanical systems.
  • Skill 7: Program medium/high complexity PLCs for industrial applications.

With additional courses

In cases where direct access to the Master's degree is not possible, the academic committee will determine the additional courses that must be taken in order to acquire the required skills, completing all or some of the following subjects:

ELECTRONIC TECHNOLOGY

(4 ECTS)

BASIC INDUSTRIAL AUTOMATION

(4 ECTS)

MACHINE AND MECHANISM THEORY

(4 ECTS)

MICROPROCESSORS

(4 ECTS)

Skill 3       X
Skill 4       X
Skill 5       X
Skill 6     X
Skill 7   X

The additional courses are designed so that the student can complete them with a high degree of autonomy. For this reason, the start and end dates can be agreed by the student with the coordinator responsible for the degree programme with a certain degree of flexibility, as long as it is guaranteed that the time made available for the required training is sufficient for the student to work towards acquiring the required skills.

As a reference, the estimated work time required for a subject of 4 to 4.5 ECTS is 3 weeks, and in the case of a subject of 6 ECTS, it is 4 weeks, with an 8 hour/day dedication. Additional training courses will be offered between January and July.

These additional courses must be completed before the start of the academic year, and students interested in doing so must make the necessary arrangements for this training.

Admission

The body responsible for the admission of students is the Academic Committee of the EPS of Mondragon Unibertsitatea.

Once the access requirements have been met, the admission of students will be based on the following two criteria:

  1. The student’s academic record.
  2. The academic curriculum of the students (previous accredited training)

Students shall be required to have achieved level B2 (of the Common European Framework of Reference for Languages: Learning, Teaching, Assessment), or an equivalent qualification, for the English language, to be admitted to the Master’s degree course, in order to ensure that students have reached a sufficient level to ensure follow-up and learning, and achievement of expected results. In addition, foreign students from countries with official languages other than Spanish will be required to have a B2 level or equivalent in Spanish.
