From March 21 to April 1, students in the Master’s Degree program in Cooperativism and Socio-Business Management will learn about the Mondragon cooperative experience in situ. The international master’s degree program in cooperativism is offered online, but students have the opportunity to learn about Basque cooperativism first hand as a complement to their training. People from El Salvador, Italy, Catalonia, Colombia and Mauritania, among other places, will participate in this first visit.

In Gipuzkoa they will visit many places, including Otalora, the Mondragon Group’s center of management and cooperative development, the Association of Friends of Arizmendiarrieta, Soraluce, Lagun Aro, the Ulma Group, the Mundukide Foundation, Arizmendi Ikastola, Emun, Goiena, Fagor Automation, and the Debagoiena 2030 and KoopFabrika projects. In addition, they will also visit innovative ventures such as Eraman, a bicycle delivery cooperative in Vitoria-Gasteiz. And in Bilbao, they will have the opportunity to visit various initiatives such as the Bilbao Berrikuntza Faktoria (BBF) and AS Fabrik, the Mondragon University campus.

In addition to these visits to cooperatives and institutions, students will take advantage of their stay in the Basque Country to deepen their knowledge of their academic field. Thus, on the Eskoriatza campus of the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences, they will participate in various training sessions and carry out tutorials on their respective End-of-Degree Projects.

The group will be formally welcomed on March 21 on the Eskoriatza campus. That day, at 11:30 a.m., Nagore Ipiña, Dean of the Faculty, and Leire Uriarte, Coordinator of the Master’s degree program, will welcome them and present the program of visits and training sessions. In addition, since Korrika will pass through Eskoriatza during their stay, the foreign students in the Master’s program will participate in this mobilization for the Basque language, together with Faculty students and employees.

Additionally, as part of the activities organized by the Master’s Degree program in Cooperativism and Socio-Business Management, they will offer an open webinar on April 28 at 6:00 p.m.: Cooperativism, strategy and digitalization.
