Fourth-year Audiovisual Communication students presented their End-of-Degree Projects in an event held on the Aretxabaleta campus on June 4 and the best presentations won awards. The event was streamed from the campus studio set.

One June 4, 4th-year students in Mondragon University’s Audiovisual Communication degree program presented their End-of-Degree Projects (EDPs). As is customary in this program, the event was also the occasion of the long-awaited Kimu Berri competition, which gives awards to the best presentations.
A group of 3rd-year students in the degree program were responsible for broadcasting the event live. The panel of judges for this year’s Kimu Berri competition included three people: Mikel Orobengoa, director of ISEA Innovation in Advanced Business Services; Koldo Azkoitia, director of the Development Agency of the Commonwealth of Debagoiena; and Amaia Pavón, Professor of Audiovisual Communication.
This year saw a total of 18 EDPs in Audiovisual Communication, all of which were completed in collaboration with companies and institutions, and 17 of which were presented at the June 4 event. This year’s projects were completed in collaboration with the following organizations, among others: Orioko Herri Eskola, TU Lankide, SD Eibar adapted football, Cikautxo and the Bergara City Council. Academic presentations of all completed EDPs will begin next week.

First prize
  • Winners: Oihane Puertas and Idoia La Hidalga
  • Project: documentary made for the Kurruskla cultural association
  • Explanation from the panel of judges: quality of the presentation and of the language used, clarity of the message, and originality of the proposal
Second prize
  • Winners: Anne Dobaran, Edurne Arroyo and Irati Cledu
  • Project: prototype of a series made for the digital magazine Zut
  • Explanation from the panel of judges: good use of resources, and ability to capture the audience’s attention
Third prize:
  • Winners: Eneko Fernández, Aitor Ollo and Andoni Carnovich
  • Project: communication plan and audiovisual pieces for the New Old School Gym
  • Explanation from the panel of judges: originality of the presentation, appropriateness of the treatment of the subject, use of animation and humor
