On March 23 and 24, Mondragon University will hold a symposium of universities that use the alternation format in their Education degrees. Among other activities, on March 23 at 2:15 p.m. in room D.0.3 on the Eskoriatza campus, we will hold an open conference under the title Learning about dual experiences/different alternations: strengths and challenges.

  • Registration: 6th annual DualECA Conference.

The University of Lleida, the University of Andorra, Jaume I University and representatives from the Higher Polytechnic School and the Faculty of Business Studies of Mondragon University will join the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences of Mondragon University in participating in this sixth year of the conference. In this way, DualECA will open a channel of communication with diverse disciplines in order to enrich reflection on the challenges and strengths of this method of teaching and learning.

This year’s symposium will focus on the strengths and challenges of alternation models (primarily in Education degree programs, but also taking Engineering and Business Administration and Management into consideration). Indeed, in recent years, the alternation and dual training methods have increased in different disciplines; hence the interest in learning more about these experiences and about the strengths and challenges perceived in these models.

The DualECA symposium will be held on the Eskoriatza campus and will last for two days. In the morning session on March 23, the universities participating in the DualECA network will hold a monographic session on school visits carried out within the framework of the practicum. They will speak about the training aspect of these visits, as well as about the connection between school and university. The purpose of these meetings is to share the different practices that are carried out.

This sixth year of the conference aims to create a map of concerns, challenges and strengths in order to analyze the current situation of dual training in Education, as it is a relatively young format without stable guidelines or practices.

The conference will continue on March 24 with a program that will bring DualECA participants together. First, Josu Galarza from Mondragon University will present the EU4Dual project, and then they will visit a school that welcomes Mondragon University students in the alternation program.
