LEINN Teaching model 2021 - 2022

DEGREE IN ENTREPRENEURIAL LEADERSHIP AND INNOVATION (LEINN)

We detail, on the one hand, the teaching-learning model of the LEINN Degree and, on the other, the academic calendar of the 20-21 academic year.

LEINN 2020-21 MODEL

Faced with the COVID-19 crisis and the framework generated for the new normality with social distancing measures, we created the following explanatory document on the model we will follow in the LEINN Degree in Entrepreneurial Leadership and Innovation.

In accordance with the provisions of the academic authorities, all the necessary measures of prevention, protection and distances established by the educational and health authorities have been adopted, so that the activities can be carried out in person as far as possible.

This document describes how the most significant LEINN degree training activities will be developed:

1) Training Sessions/ Team Learning Sessions
2) Laboratories: projects and company
3) Basic subjects and content programs
4) International mobility - Learning Journeys
5) Evaluations
6) Programming and events

1. Training Sessions – Team Learning Sessions

Training sessions or Team Learning Sessions are one of the most important and significant learning tools of the MTA learning model at LEINN. For the teams, these constitute their main forum for dialogue and knowledge generation.

As far as possible, the dialogue sessions will take place in person in the MTA laboratories, as well as online. The spaces have been adapted to meet distance measurements and to carry out this activity safely. The Training Session model is based on two sessions, twice a week and 4 hours each, and the Team Learning Session model (the Team Learning Session model is applied this course 20/21 in TEAMLABS laboratories in Madrid & Barcelona) also lasts 8 hours per week, but spread over 3 sessions, starting the week with the 2-hour Focus Session, plus 2 3-hour sessions called Team Learning Sessions (being one online and the other face-to-face).

2. Laboratories: physical work spaces for the teams

The offices of team companies and network laboratories have been adapted to the established requirements, following the protocols designed for their safe use. The following activities can be carried out in the laboratories, such as:

  • individual work (in the coworking spaces of the laboratory, as well as in the spaces belonging to team companies)
  • project team meetings (by prior reservation)
  • development of projects (in the teamcompanies space as well as in rooms set up for this purpose by prior reservation)
  • prototyping sessions (in maker room / fablab as well as in rooms enabled for this purpose by prior reservation).

The capacity of the laboratories has been reduced and therefore the number of teampreneurs that can be in each office as well. For the correct organization of the laboratory, a use protocol will be established that will be shared with each teamcompany at the start of the course 20/21. The coordination and prior reservation will be key to make good use of the spaces by all the actors.

3. Basic training courses / tech skills and content-based programs. From a unimodal model to a bimodal model.

In this course 20/21 we incorporate into LEINN's design the best of the face-to-face system and the best of the online system, for this:
For basic training subjects, LEINN has already developed an online model. The platform has been prepared so that they can develop asynchronously. These basic training subjects are developed during the first two LEINN courses.

For the rest of the third and fourth year content-based training programs, they will be developed through the hybrid / blended model, with online training activities such as learning sessions and face-to-face sessions for some mentoring and team sessions.

4. International mobility - Learning Journeys

From MTA we continue to firmly bet on the development of competencies for global people and for this the learning trips are the best tool. Our proposal of destinations for the 2020-21 academic year will always prioritize the safety and health of leinners.

That is why a proposal for scenarios for 2020-21 has been designed that we will be developing in a flexible way in each of the laboratories (regarding destinations and dates in the laboratories of Irún, Oñati and Bilbao of Mondragón Unibertsitatea, laboratory of Valencia. University Florida; Madrid and Barcelona laboratories TEAMLABS /; Puebla laboratory IBERO; Laboratories Shanghai, Berlin and Seoul TZBZ), taking into account the context of each moment. The main destinations (we are working in multiple scenarios in which there could be alternative destinations. This update of destinations will be communicated to the teams of leaders of the teamcompanies) will be the following:

  • 1st LEINN: Europe 6 weeks.
  • 2nd LEINN: USA 4 weeks.
  • 3rd LEINN: China / India 14 weeks

5. Evaluations

The evaluation in LEINN is supported by various evaluation strategies and procedures related to the object of evaluation (knowledge, skills or attitudes), for which these strategies have been maintained because they are adequately adapted to the current context.

Following the requirements of social distance, the formative assessment sessions (360º feedback) can be developed in person in the laboratories. The rest of the evaluation activities may be carried out online or in person, depending on the context.

For the evaluations of the final degree projects of LEINN, they will be developed in face-to-face format in the laboratories and, if this is not possible, as they can be carried out in the online modality. The presence in the companies where the PFGs are developed will be subject to their policies, guaranteeing at all times that the project can be developed correctly in it and that the learning objectives set for it are met.

 6. Schedule and events

In the 2020-21 academic year, the digital agenda set up during confinement will be maintained. This digital agenda includes webinars, talks, and other online events. This online programming is developed in a coordinated way among all the MTA labs where LEINN is developed, allowing it to connect a community of more than 900 leinners in 9 laboratories.

In addition to this online programming, in each of the LEINN laboratories, community events and other face-to-face activities will be held, following the protocols established for it.

Therefore, the programming of community activities and events will have their activities online and in person.
