The European project HIFI-ELEMENTS (High Fidelity Electric Modelling and Testing) is funded by the EU’s Horizon 2020 programme and involves developing a recommendation for standardising model interfaces for common e-drive components, implementing compliant versions of existing models.

Two of the Higher Polytechnic School’s research lines are working on the HIFI project: the electric energy research line and that of software engineering and systems. The kick-off meeting in Barcelona was organised by the company IDIADA and
dealt with Work Package 6. All the members had the chance to present their achievements and debate on the specific content of the work being undertaken by each of them.

A long-standing project

The HIFI-ELEMENTS project is backed by benchmark organisations in EU-wide research such as FEV, RWTH (Aachen University), Ricardo, Tecnalia, CIDETEC, IVECO, DENSO ,TOFAS, IDIADA, TNO, MONDRAGON UNIVERSITY, dSPACE, VUB (University of Brussels), MAGNA, YASA MOTORS and FORD. They all work together to guarantee the success of the programme, whose main aim is to optimise work flows and partnerships between companies in order to reduce production costs and optimise vehicle development.
