The Basque HEGAN aerospace cluster has promoted a new edition of the course after the success of the previous one
After the success of the first edition of the course “Metallurgy and metallic properties used in aeronautics”, in which the available places were completed and the evaluations of the attendees were very positive, HEGAN (Basque Aerospace Cluster) organised on 25-26 February the second edition of this ,course taught by the personnel of the Department of Mechanics and Industrial Production of the Higher Polytechnic School.
The sessions will be held from 8:30 am to 6:00 pm and will take place in building 101 of the Biscay Technology Park (Zamudio). This course, aimed at personnel dedicated to the production and design of the metalworking sector in aeronautics, seeks to help people to understand the reasons that justify the influence of the internal characteristics and properties of the metallic materials used in aeronautics in the behaviour of these materials during processing. To do this, the general theoretical concepts of metallurgy and the mechanical and physical properties of the materials (Ni-base superalloys and Ti alloys) will be described and related to the behaviour in the processing of these materials (machining, forming).
The speakers will include researchers from the High-Performance Machining Research Group and the Advanced Materials Processing Processes Research Group of Mondragon Unibertsitatea, with extensive experience in projects funded in different calls (regional, national, and European) and through research and transfer contracts with companies in the aeronautical sector.
