NEW EXPERT COURSE IN INDUSTRIAL CYBERSECURITY, ONE OF THE FEW IN THE STATE WITH THIS SPECIALIZATION

Currently, cyber-attacks on industrial companies are growing exponentially, mainly due to the fact that there is more interconnection between traditional corporate networks and plant networks. This is mainly due to the fact that there is more interconnection between traditional corporate networks and plant networks. Faced with this risk that a well-executed cyberattack could strike at the production plant, it is increasingly necessary to have profiles trained to govern and manage cybersecurity in industrial environments.

Until a few years ago, the existing separation and lack of interconnection between traditional corporate networks (IT networks, "Information Technology") and plant networks (OT networks, "Operational Technology"), meant that the latter were safe from attacks that have been occurring for some time in corporate networks. This scenario has changed and a successful cyber-attack can impact both traditional servers running business applications (ERP, CRM, etc.) and the production plant and can have serious consequences in terms of production downtime and personal safety risks.

The Cybersecurity area of Mondragon Unibertsitatea with the collaboration of PricewaterhouseCoopers Spain launches in January a new 400-hour online university expert course to train attendees to govern and manage the risks associated with industrial cybersecurity and integrate the different techniques and tools to address the associated challenges and threats.

The training program enables attendees to identify and know the different components of an industrial automation environment, to know the main protocols and existing technologies to solve the communication problems between the different equipment and applications that interact in industrial automation processes and to be able to make appropriate decisions in the event of cybersecurity incidents, applying concepts and tools for their detection and resolution.

Always focusing on OT environments, during the course attendees will have to carry out a personal project that will be supervised by an expert tutor who will accompany them throughout the design and implementation of the project.

This course has experts from both Mondragon Unibertsitatea and PricewaterhouseCoopers Spain, highly qualified and experienced in real projects in OT environments.

In addition, it is a course that can be reimbursed by Fundae for companies.
