September 2021 marks the start of the first year of the EIT Manufacturing Master, a European training program in which Mondragon Unibertsitatea teaches the People and Robots for Sustainable Work specialization.

Mondragon Unibertsitatea and MONDRAGON Corporation are members of KIC EIT Manufacturing, an innovation community belonging to the European Institute of Innovation and Technology (EIT) that connects the main players in manufacturing in Europe. The community is made up of 53 companies, universities and technology centers that follow a common goal: to add value to European products, processes and services to create globally competitive and sustainable manufacturing.

EIT Manufacturing wants to equip European companies with capable and inspired people to shape the future of manufacturing, and to this end, in September 2021 the project has reached a new milestone, the launch of the EIT Manufacturing Master programme. The program is composed of four specialties and Mondragon Unibertsitatea participates in one of them, People and Robots for Sustainable Work in collaboration with the Austrian university Technische Universität Wien.

The visit

Lucia Ramundo, Master and PhD Program Manager of EIT Manufacturing, has visited Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Ramundo met with the academic and research managers of the Faculty of Engineering and visited the GARAIA Technology Park. In the meeting she was explained the entrepreneurship ecosystem and was able to discuss with MONDRAGON and some invited companies the possibilities of collaboration with EIT Manufacturing in order to contribute to the integration of students in the business world. During the day's visit, he was also able to tour the university's workshops and technology laboratories and personally met the students taking this first edition of the EIT master's degree. Specifically, in this first edition there are 5 students participating, two from India, 1 from Pakistan and 2 more local students.

The registration period for the second promotion of the Master's program will open soon, where Mondragon Unibertsitatea will continue to teach the People and Robots for Sustainable Work specialty. The program consists of two academic years, one in Mondragon and the second in Vienna (Austria), and includes modules, projects and internships closely linked to the needs of companies.
