A year ago, Mondragon Unibertsitatea and Open Cloud Factory signed a collaboration agreement for scientific and technological research for a period of 5 years. In the second year of the agreement, the agents have decided to take a step further and have joined the Industry 4.0 laboratory, in which they collaborate with the INCIBE industrial laboratory network.

In the Industry 4.0 laboratory, both students and researchers at the university work, research and develop solutions using the OpenNAC Enterprise modular software from Open Cloud Factory. This solution enables network access control, allowing full visibility of IT/OT/IoT/IIoT assets, as well as access control and compliance. Mondragon Unibertsitatea and Open Cloud Factory have agreed to allow other companies outside the collaboration agreement to access these facilities to carry out their tests and research.

A cutting-edge laboratory

The laboratory covers an area of 112 m2 and has state-of-the-art technological equipment such as machine vision, a Collaborative Robot, 2 industrial Robots, a modular production system, and a mobile robot. All this infrastructure of industrial systems is in turn connected to a Data Processing Centre, equipped with Network Electronics equipment, as well as equipment for data storage and processing, and cybersecurity equipment that allows the establishment of zones and conduits, and segmentation of different networks in accordance with the IEC-62443 standard on Security for Industrial Automation and Control Systems.
