The thesis, with the title “Analysis of the performance of Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning on supply chain management: A multiple case study”, concerns the performance analysis of the planning of the requirements of materials according to the demand in the management of the supply chain, a research topic in which MGEP is a leader at the State level.

It is the first thesis on the subject in Spain, and the fourth at the European or global level. The work consists of analysing the evolution that three companies have had after migrating from the MRP (Material Requirements Planning) to the DDMRP (Demand-Driven Material Requirements Planning), and the impact of this process on the competitive advantage. To this end, the results have been compared before and after each implementation of the DDMRP and the performance evolution of each company has been evaluated. Finally, a cross-case study has been carried out.

Thanks to the results obtained, it has been demonstrated that, with the DDMRP methodology, companies can increase their visibility in the supply chain, considerably reducing the bullwhip effect and urgent orders. It is worth mentioning the evolution of the inventory, as it undergoes a significant reduction in all three cases while the consumption of the materials increases, maintaining the level of service practically at 100%.

The thesis will be defended on 23 November 2018.
