The Higher Polytechnic School of Mondragon, in collaboration with Gizabidea Fundazioa (Fagor Group), the MONDRAGON Corporation and the Saiolan Centre for Innovation and Business Promotion launched the new edition of the Enpresa Sortuz initiative in March. It consisted of a call to students (and alumni) of engineering and technological training cycles to present the business ideas that they had during their training period.

In this edition, a dozen projects were submitted, with business ideas that cover many areas of engineering and which were rated very positively by the jury. The €18,000 from the aid fund offered by the Enpresa Sortuz initiative was distributed among the following projects:

1st Prize:

  • Project name: "Wellk"
  • Mission: Ecosystem 4.0 to increase sport practice and profitability in sport centres
  • Promoters: E. Ercilla, A. Guinea, y J. Martin
  • Degree: Degree in Biomedical, Degree in Industrial Design, and Degree in Computer Science

The award is aimed at covering a monthly scholarship or aid package for entrepreneurs or the purchase of material and equipment necessary to carry out the activity. In addition, promoters will have a workspace in the GARAIA Technology Park in Arrasate, specifically in the start-up area. Furthermore, the Mondragon Unibertsitatea faculty will offer them technological advice, and Saiolan will be in charge of providing business advice.

The jury has decided to make a special mention of a social project presented and has decided to offer its promoters a workspace in the GARAIA Technology Park so that they can further develop their ideas. The Saiolan Business Promotion and Innovation Centre is also committed to offering business advice to the promoter team.
