Covid-19 Protocol

Protocol of action of of Humanities and Education Sciencies against Covid-19.

The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences has prepared its academic activity for the 2021-2022 academic year in its four degree programs:

  • Early Childhood Education
  • Primary Education
  • Audiovisual Communication
  • Global Digital Humanities (HDG)

This model will provide you with a meaningful learning experience making use of a variety of contexts: both on- and off-campus, and in the digital environment.

Campuses and services will be open to all students. We anticipate different levels of in-person classes in the 2021-2022 academic year, depending on your degree program. In the Early Childhood Education and Primary Education degree programs, for example, students will have in-person classes 3-4 days per week on the renovated Eskoriatza campus, while for the Audiovisual Communication degree program, the goal is to ensure 4 days per week of in-person instruction on the Aretxabaleta campus. In the case of our Global Digital Humanities degree program, which  we are offering in Bilbao AS Fabrik, the plan is to continue with in-person classes 2-3 days per week.

In all on-campus classes and meetings, we will work in small groups to ensure health and safety conditions. Weekly activities will be complemented by digital and off-campus activities. As you know, our degree programs are based on flexibility and customization. This ensures that we will be able to respond to different situations that may arise during the academic year.

Furthermore, in order to deal with the health challenges that Covid-19 has already brought, and to ensure the safety of our students and staff, the Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences has implemented a number of safety measures. We have designed a rigorous pandemic safety protocol that is applying on all campuses. Additionally, we have reorganized the physical spaces and resources on our campuses, reducing classroom capacities and staggering traffic at entrances and exits.

In addition to the above, and regardless of what happens, in order to be able to maintain a meaningful and effective learning process, we have invested in online resources and tools, as well as in digital training for our instructors. Students, please rest assured that you will be given all the support you need to work in digital contexts if necessary. In this way, we aim to provide you, the student, with meaningful and comprehensive learning processes, placing you at the center stage of your learning process.

You yourself will be the leader in your learning process, and the different learning contexts that we have designed will guarantee your personal and professional development. In order to accomplish this, the guidance of your tutors and professors will be especially important in your degree program.

Regarding internships and End-of-Degree Projects, the Faculty plans to continue as normal. It may be necessary, however, to adapt internships and End-of-Degree Projects in order to respond to decisions made by our collaborating organizations and schools. Should this occur, the flexibility of our model makes it possible to do the work using digital resources.

Regarding our international programs, we have ratified the agreements we signed with various universities. Thus, unless otherwise instructed, we will move forward with our Erasmus and international programs.

Your academic progress is guaranteed!
