NATIONAL STUDENTS

There are different ways of entering the degree in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts:

  1. From Spanish Baccalaureate after passing the university entrance exam. The degree can be accessed from any Baccalaureate option.
  2. From Higher Level Education Cycle
  3. People over the age of 25 and 45 after passing the university entrance examination. Mondragon Unibertsitatea does not call university entrance examinations for people over 25 and 45. However, students who have passed the entrance examinations of the UPV/EHU and the UNED will be considered for the degree in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts, providing that they take the option of Social and Legal Sciences in the specific phase.
  4. University Graduates
  5. People over the age of 40 with working experience in this field

Level of English

Students wishing to do the Degree, must justify a knowledge of English of level B1 (European framework of reference for languages CEFR) or entrance equivalent

Exceptionally, students with an equivalent level to A2 will be admited, but at the end of the 1st year they must have reached level B1.

STUDENTS FROM THE EU

Students coming from education systems of an EU country, Norway, Iceland, Liechtenstein, Switzerland, China or with European or International Baccalaureates, who satisfy the university access requirements demanded in their respective countries, qualify for studying at universities in Spain. Thus, these students do not need to take the entrance examination to the Spanish university.

However, to study at universities in Spain, it is essential for these students to request the Credential (certificado de calificación) to access university studies from the National Distance Education University (UNED) through their platform UNED assis.

Level of English

Students wishing to do the Degree, must justify a knowledge of English of level B1 (European framework of reference for languages CEFR) or entrance equivalent

Exceptionally, students with an equivalent level to A2 will be admited, but at the end of the 1st year they must have reached level B1.

Level of spanish of international students

International students whose mother tongue is not Spanish, must prove they have a knowledge of level DELE B2 or equivalent.

STUDENTS FROM OUTSIDE THE EU

Students with studies from countries outside the EU, Norway, Switzerland, Iceland, Liechtenstein or China, can access the Degree in Gastronomy and Culinary Arts through the following access channels:

  • Validating their secondary school studies to the Spanish Baccalaureate

Students need to seek validation of their secondary education to the Spanish Baccalaureate at the representative offices of the Spanish Ministry of Education abroad. Information of the international offices of the Ministry can be found in the following link.

Once validation is requested, it is essential for these students to request a provisional Credential (certificado de calificación) to access university studies from the National Distance Education University (UNED) through their platform UNED assis. Until validation arrives (process that takes a few months), this provisional Credential will determine if the student fulfills the access requirements to the Spanish university system and offers a provisional grade.

  • Validating a minimum of 30 ECTS.

Corresponding to university study subjects that may or may not be finished (30 ECTS are the equivalent to one semester).
