Mondragon Unibertsitatea is the university with the greatest socio-economic impact in the Basque Country, according to the ranking recently published by CYD (the Spanish ranking with the largest number of universities that analyses their performance according to different variables). The study also states that Mondragon Unibertsitatea is among the top 5 universities in Spain with the best performance in Mechanical Engineering.
The CYD Ranking, which measures the performance of universities according to different dimensions such as teaching and learning, research, knowledge transfer, internationalisation and contribution to regional development, has now published the results of its ninth edition. In addition, the ranking is analysed by fields of knowledge and helps students and universities in their decision making.
In this ninth edition, the CYD Ranking has presented results from 79 universities, 28 fields of knowledge (new: Architecture) and 3,052 degrees. The participating universities represent 94% of the 84 that offer degree courses included in the Register of Universities, Centres and Degrees. Of these, 48 are public (representing 100% representativeness) and 31 are private (86% of the total).
New this year, the CYD Ranking analyses the adaptation of the Spanish university system to the digitalisation of teaching, STEM disciplines and the evolution of women in academic careers.
Best performance in STEM
The analysis of the different indicators analysed shows positive results for Mondragon Unibertsitatea, placing the university among the five Spanish universities that contribute the most to regional development, and it is the university that generates the greatest socio-economic impact in the Basque Autonomous Community. The university also stands out in performance linked to STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics) and is among the top 5 universities in Spain with the best performance in Mechanical Engineering.
