The project has two primary aims: first, to renovate the Dorleta building in order to accommodate increases in the number of faculty, to make the building more efficient, and to bring the building into line with the innovative educational model promoted by the Faculty; and second, to be able to provide improved services to the people of Eskoriatza, including a better building and environment, and a more open, practical, and attractive campus.

The Dorleta building was built in 1976 to house the Eskoriatza Teacher Training School, which is renowned throughout the Basque Country.

The Faculty of Humanities and Education Sciences has been in Eskoriatza for more than 40 years. The purpose of this project is to continue cultivating this relationship; thus, a very close relationship will be maintained between the Faculty and the Eskoriatza City Council as the project evolves.
