Profile

Roberto Uribeetxeberria obtained the PhD degree in Mobile Communications at Staffordshire University (UK) and the engineering degree in Automatics and Industrial Electronics in Mondragon Unibertsitatea (Spain).

He combines teaching in both, engineering degrees and professional training courses, with research on networking and computer security. He obtained the quality accreditation as lecturer/researcher from the Basque University System Quality Agency. He is currently the manager of the Telematics Group of the engineering school and responsible for the PhD degree in New Information and Communications Technologies of the Computing and Electronics Department. He is a member of the PhD Committee of the university.

His main research interests are networking and computer security. He has supervised a PhD thesis and he is currently supervising other three PhD thesis in this areas. He has several publications and he has been involved in multiple research projects. He is the representative of the university in the Artemisia Industrial Association which is related to embedded systems.

Since 2001 he teaches in Telecommunications, Computing and Management Engineering degrees subjects such as communications networks, data transmission systems, analysis and design of information and telecommunications systems, network security or computer security. He takes part in the educational project Mendeberri in collaboration with Aalborg University (Denmark) which applies project based learning/teaching.

He is lecturer in the postgraduate programme of the university and takes part in the Telematics Master and the System Integration Master. He also teaches in advanced courses such as computer security, Internet and computer system security, security incidents or networking & security.
