Abstract: Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) techniques have been considered as candidates to support multimedia services in mobile radio communications [1]. On the other hand, the Multicarrier Modulation (MCM) schemes, often called Orthogonal Frequency Division Multiplexing (OFDM), have drawn a lot of attention in the field of radio communications, [2, 3, 4]. In this paper the combination of CDMA and OFDM techniques for the transmission of data over the radio channel has been described. The attention will be focused to the most promising Multicarrier CDMA schemes for cellular communication systems. Computer simulations have been carried out in order to verify the Bit Error Rate (BER) performance of the systems. The transmission of Multicarrier CDMA signals over Gaussian channel has been considered first and, after that, over different fading channels. The signals sent through the subchannels have been modulated using square Quadrature Amplitude Modulation (QAM), both 16-QAM and 64-QAM, and different number f subchannels have been used in the simulations.
