DESIGNING SUSTAINABLE SYSTEMS (NATHAN SHEDROFF)
WorkShop en inglés
This workshop will focus on both strategies and tactics in blending approaches to lesson negative ecological, economic, social, and cultural impacts on customer solution. We'll explore several systems in a charrette environment and leave the workshop with practical experience in improving products, services, and systems.

Este
taller ofrece una introducción al desarrollo de soluciones de negocio
sostenibles. Para ello, se presenta una metodología y herramienta que permite
trabajar las tres dimensiones: usuario (dimensión social), diseño de la
solución (dimensión ambiental), comercialización de la solución (dimensión de
económica y modelo de negocio) .

An OpenGreen workshop will be organised in the afternoon. OpenGreen is an open innovation
process aimed at identifying new income generating opportunities for more
sustainable products, services and technologies. The OpenGreen creative process will include group and individual working with
participants having the opportunity to join separate product/market discussions
based on their area of interest (Buildings, Mobility, Food, Retailing, and
Lifestyle). Each group will generate new ideas and then will have to 'through
through'
practicities of
taking concepts to the market using the 12P programme! Participants will find
that they work intensively and creatively whilist having fun!

NATHAN SHEDROFF // DIRECTOR OF CCA’S MBA DESIGN STRATEGY, CALIFORNIA COLLEGE OF THE ARTS
Nathan is the chair of CCA's MBA in Design Strategy. He is one of the pioneers of experience
design, an approach to design that encompasses multiple senses and explores the common characteristics in all media that make experiences successful; he also works in the related fields of interaction design and information design. Nathan's latest book, Design is the Problem: The Future of Design Must Be Sustainable, clearly explains the principles, frameworks, tools, and strategies for designers to create more sustainable solutions. His book Making Meaning: How Successful Businesses Deliver Meaningful Customer Experiences, cowritten with two members of the Silicon Valley–based strategic consultancy Cheskin, explores how companies can specifically create products and services to evoke meaning in their audiences and customers.
ICHIN CHENG // DIRECTOR OF SUSTAINBLE INNOVATION LAB
Ichin Cheng is currently director of Sustainable Innovation Lab and has over 20 years experience spanning policy and environmental issues, particular expertise in business sustainability, climate change and cleantech issues. She also has high level access to the policy makers, industry and supply chain in Asia and special focus on Green Tech, ICT sector and Renewable energy. Some
of key works she involved in as the director of Sustainable Innovation Lab, including research into climate change policy, sustainable consumption and production, strategic business development, green tech trading, research into green public policy, eco-city development in Great China
region, research trends on resource management, water, energy efficiency and renewable energy policy (e.g. for Apple, Ihobe, SDFT). She was Project director of Kaohsiung City on Climate Change Strategy and ActionPlan.
MARTIN CHARTER // DIRECTOR of THE CENTRE OF SUSTAINABLE DESIGN, UNIVERSITY FOR CREATIVE ARTS (UCA)
Martin has worked at director level on business sustainability issues in consultancy, leisure,
publishing, training, events and research for over 22 years. Martin was the founding editor of the Journal of Sustainable Product Design, The Green Management Letter and Greener Management
International (GMI) and is presently a member of the Editorial Boards of GMI, International Journals of Sustainable Engineering and Sustainable Design. Martin has been a member of international/national/regional advisory boards covering green electronics, environmental technology, sustainability reporting & sustainable innovation. Presently, he sits on the expert boards of the EC Eco-Innovation Observatory and the World Resources Forum. Martin is presently convenor of ISO 14006 and was the previous UK expert to both ISO and BSI groups on ISO TR 14062. He is author and editor of various books and publications including Greener
Marketing (1992 and 1999), The Green Management Gurus [e-book] (1996), Managing Eco-design (1997), Sustainable Solutions (2001) and System Innovation for Sustainability (2008).
ORIOL PASCUAL // BUSINESS DEVELOPER AND SUSTAINABLE INNOVATION CONSULTANT, ENVIU
Oriol Pascual, lleva quince años combinando sostenibilidad y competitividad. Ha trabajado en
Philips Corporate Sustainability Office donde desarrolló el protocolo de auditorias ambientales
internas, en ERM Iberia implementando sistemas de gestión ambiental, en la Universidad Técnica de Delft en el departamento de Design for Sustainability, en su startup Onsustain, y desde 2008 en Enviu donde ha sido responsable del desarrollo del vivero de empresas clean tech Dnamo (Rotterdam, NL).
Actualmente, Oriol dirige Enviu Barcelona desde donde sigue sus actividades como business developer. Su último proyecto es ImpactCrowd.com: la primera plataforma de financiación colectiva especializada en empresas y proyectos de carácter ambiental.
MONICA MOSO // DIRECTORA GENERAL DE ACLIMA
Mónica Moso Díez es Doctora en Ciencias Políticas y de la Administración (UPV/EHU), MBA (ESEUNE), MA in Society, Science and Technology (Oslo Unibersitet) y Licenciada en Ciencias Políticas y Sociología (UPV/EHU). Además de labores de investigación, ha realizado labores de dirección, en el Clúster del Conocimiento en Gestión Empresarial del País Vasco (2000-2007) y la Agencia Vasca de Innovación- Innobasque (2008-2009). Es la Directora General de ACLIMA (Asociación Cluster de Industrias de Medio Ambiente de Euskadi) desde el año 2010.
DANIEL JUSTEL // COORDINADOR AULA DE ECODISEÑO DBZ, MGEP, MU
Dani es investigador del Centro de Innovación en Diseño (DBZ) de Mondragon Unibertsitatea. Del cuál coordina la línea de diseño sostenible y eco-innovación enmarcada dentro del AULA DE ECODISEÑO. Sus áreas de trabajo e investigación son el diseño sostenible centrado en las personas, la eco-innovación y la eco-eficiencia. Desde el 2004 desarrolla proyectos de investigación en diferentes sectores, entre otros: electrodomésticos, transporte, bienes de equipo, distribución. Además, es el coordinador del Máster Universitario en Diseño Estratégico de Productos y Servicios Asociados.
