Objectives

In response to the changes produced and the needs that have arisen in companies and institutions, Mondragon Unibertsitatea has set up the Mendeberri educational project. These changes produced in the professional environment make an absolute change in the concept os education essential.

The aim of the project is the personal, social and professional training of individuals to make them capable of tackling work-related challenges. A personal, social and professional training of these characteristics cannot be provided through an educational model based on the mere transmission of knowledge, as in that classic model the students only attend classes, listen to the lecturers and take notes.

That model that generates passiveness is not sufficient to tackle the challenges of professional life. As a result, a project is required that boosts the students' participation and promotes collaboration and assumption of responsibilities by the students. This model will be based on communication and will turn the student into a pro-active agent.

The aim of the new model is the development of knowledge, skills and values. It is a trilingual model; when the student's training process is complete they will be able to develop their activity at least in:

• Basque
• Spanish
• English

With a high level. This way, the capacity to make the most of the opportunities provided by the new information technologies and the communication must be absolute.
