Mondragon University presents the fifth edition of International Courses for 2011-2012

Feb 25, 2011
The Faculty of Humanities and Education, at Mondragon University, HUHEZI, has presented the fifth edition of its international courses for the academic year 2011-2012. Both will be worth 30 ECTS and will be given in English during both semesters. Last year 14 students from various European countries took part in the last edition.

Objectives

During their stay in Eskoriatza the students of the international courses will take part in all of their subjects, all of which are in English, alongside our own students. In this way the university aims to strengthen in a real way the presence of English in subjects. In addition to classes, the students from the Erasmus programme will do practice at the schools in the Debagoiena Valley and in the headquarters of the Basque Television, in Bilbao

Courses

Two courses are on offer for this second edition of the International courses:

  • Education and Multilingualism. The international students (with studies related to education) who opt for this course in Mondragon University,  will be able to learn  about the learning and teaching of second languages in multilingual contexts and about the ICT in the development of plurilinguism. Their studies will be complemented by a period of teaching practice in Infant and Primary schools, in the Debagoiena Valley.
  • Media and Communication. This course is directed towards students of communication and journalism, and its focus is on the international communication, documentary filmmaking and production on TV. Students will carry out a practice period at the headquarter of EITB, the Public Basque Television, in Bilbao.

Special courses

These courses are of special significance since Mondragon University is the first university in the Basque Country to offer this type of course entirely in English.  It is more usual for foreign students to come and study through the medium of Spanish.
